Day 1: Siem Reap arrival

Upon arrival to Siem Reap, you will be welcomed by our local representative at the airport for transfer to the hotel for 3 nights’ stay. The rest of the day is free at your own leisure to explore the mystical town.

Day 2 Angkor Wat temple tour

Today, you will embark on a tour to discover the spectacular Angkor Thom and Angkor Wat regions. Start the day with a visit to the Angkor Thom area via the South Gate of Angkor Thom. Inside the walls of this city, you will tour Bayon, standing in the exact center of Angkor Thom. Located 200m northwest of the Bayon is the Baphuon, a single sanctuary temple-mountain situated on a high base. Then, visit the Phimean Akas Temple, enclosed by the walls of the Royal Palace. The temple is built of roughly hewn sandstone blocks and has little decoration. Next, proceed to the Elephants Terrace, dedicated to Buddhist and replica to the Bayon style of art. Afterwards, head to the Leper King Terrace, faced with dramatic bas-reliefs, and carries on the grandeur theme that characterizes the building during Jayavarman VII’s reign. You will also tour the Royal Palace, Woman and Man Pond, enclosed by a literate wall with only the base remaining today.

Next, visit the UNESCO World Heritage Site – Ta-Prohm Temple. The photogenic and atmospheric combination of trees growing out of the ruins and the jungle surroundings have made the site one of Angkor’s most visited temples. After lunch, continue your journey to the largest religious monument in the world – the Angkor Wat. Built in the early 12th century, this architectural masterpiece is one of the seven greatest architectural wonders of the world. Lastly, make a visit to Phnom Bakheng for its beautiful sunset. Overnight in Siem Reap

Day 3 Tonle Sap lake

A day of cultural and relaxation tour awaits you in Siem Reap today. First, take a traditional wooden boat ride on the Tonle Sap Lake, the Great Lake of Cambodia to tour the rustic Floating Village. Next, visit the Les Artisan D’ Angkor (Art School) – an educational center that trains rural young people in traditional skills of stone carving, wood carving, lacquer and silk weaving.  After lunch, proceed to Angkor Silk Farm to understand the fascinating process of silk-making and buy high-quality silk products. Following, enjoy a 1-hour traditional Khmer massage and proceed for a tour of the Local Market.  Enjoy dinner with Aspara Dancing Performance before you return to hotel for the night.

Day 4 Phnom Penh

This morning, you will take the public coach to transfer to Phnom Penh – the capital city of Cambodia. Upon arrival to Phnom Penh, enjoy your lunch then check in to hotel. Your first stop in Phnom Penh will be the Royal Palace, built by King Norodom in 1866 on the site of the old town. On the south side of the palace is the Silver Pagoda, which got its name because its floor is made up of 5,000 silver tiles.

Next, visit the National Museum, also called Musee des Beaux-Arts. It contains a collection of Khmer architecture and sculptures since the ancient times. Thereafter, head to the Independence Monument built in 1958 for Cambodia’s independence from France in 1953. It stands on the intersection of Norodom Boulevard and Sihanouk Boulevard in the centre of the city.

Following, enjoy a leisurely stroll along Sisowath Quay, which runs along the west bank of the Tonle Sap River. This is a 3km strip lined with hotels, restaurants, bars, cafes and shops. You can also try your luck at the well-known NAGA World Casino. Overnight Siem Reap

Day 5 Phnom Penh sightseeing

Rise and shine for breakfast before you begin your tour at the tallest religious structure in the city – the Wat Phnom. It is a Buddhist temple built in 1373. At 27m above ground, you can enjoy stunning views over the tree lined avenues of the city.  Next, head to the notorious Tuol Sleng Museum. In 1975 Tuol Svay Prey High School, the former site of the museum, was taken over by Pol Pot’s security forces and turned into a prison known as Security Prison 21 (S-21). Following, you will tour the Russian Market (Psah Tuol Thom Pong), a lively outdoor market where you will find a large selection of antiques, silver and gold jewelry, gems, silk, and many other things of interest to visitors. Lastly, visit the Killing Fields of Choeung EK, about 17km south of Phnom Penh. It used to be the site of a former orchard and mass grave of victims of the Khmer Rouge killed between 1975 and 1979.
