Day 1 Phnom Penh
Your 8 day honeymoon tour begins with a visit to Tuol Sleng Museum and the Killing Fields – solemn reminders of the Khmer Rouge regime, and sites integral to understanding the Cambodia of today. You’ll also see the ancient capital of Phnom Udong, with its impressive chedis and temples still intact. To close the day, take a relaxing stroll along the Tonle Sap River before retiring to your luxury hotel.
Day 2 Phnom Penh
Today, you’ll see the city sights of Phnom Penh with a visit to the National Museum, the majestic Royal Palace and the iconic Foreign Correspondents Club. You’ll also be treated to a performance by the Cambodian Living Arts organization and even try out your own moves in a dance class.
Day 3 Kep
The seaside city of Kep is your next destination. This area is famous for its crab and locally-grown kampot pepper, and you’ll enjoy some of the best seafood dishes in Asia here. King Sihanouk’s abandoned palace is in the nearby hills – a worthwhile diversion – or you can take a day trip out to the charming Rabbit Island – Koh Tonsay – and enjoy a swim in the Gulf of Thailand’s warm tropical waters.
Day 4 Koh Rong
Next it’s off to the truly indulgent Song Saa Private Island, located off the coast of Sihanoukville. Day 5 Koh Rong
Today you’ll explore more of Song Saa Private Island. The resort offers bird-watching, kayaking and snorkeling around the nearby coral reefs. The onsite spa offers a wide array of holistic therapies, such as poolside yoga, healing massage, meditation and reiki.
Day 6 Siem Reap
Move to Siem Reap, arrive and check in, next, head to visit temples. The Angkor temple complex dates from the late 12th century and is a truly fascinating remnant of Khmer history. Today you get to explore Angkor Thom, Bayon Temple and Ta Prohm with an archaeologist as your own private guide. After visiting these amazing monuments, head to the local markets and haggle for mementos.
Day 7 Siem Reap
Today you’ll travel to the 10th century Banteay Srei temple, a fascinating red sandstone tribute to the Hindu god Shiva. After that, learn about the plight of local NGOs with an orphanage visit, before checking out Khmer arts and crafts in a bespoke shopping experience. Overnight Siem Reap
Day 8 Siem Reap
A trip to Siem Reap is not complete without seeing the sunrise at Angkor Wat. For your final day, you’ll get to experience this beautiful sight before visiting the Siem Reap School of Arts, where young students learn traditional Khmer apsara dancing. Next, get a feel for the city from a different angle with a helicopter tour, and cap off your trip with a romantic diner and apsara dance show
Day 9 Siem Reap departure
End of the trip, transfer to the airport for departure flight
